Christmas Update

I am sorry for the long hiatus from posting, but once the holidays hit, it is BUSY here! : )  in the meantime, many of you have let me know about activities coming up and I wanted to fill you in.

FIRST. Those of you wanting to see the DaVinci exhibit this month, (see prior post) you will need to call ahead to get the special rate. I did not realize that and apologize for the confusion.

SECOND. There is a group called bricks4kids coming to the FDL area for a homeschool group, and they are opening it up for older children, ages 3rd grade and up, to attend.

The class will meet December 18th from 9:30-11:00 at Youth for Christ in FDL.  The cost will be $5 per child.  If you are interested please contact Alexa at walnutrd@hotmail.com by December 9th.

If you want more info on this class, visit this site.

THIRD. The marsh trip for December has been cancelled due to no snow. There will be a trip rescheduled in the future.

FOURTH. I am trying to line up a field trip to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, either for this month or next. I would love some input if this would be something you are interested in or not. Email me, Leah, at sfran123@msn.com to let me know.

Have a very Merry Christmas!

The Fun Stuff: As a testimonial, my girls and I went to the first one last year and had a great time! It was hands-on and so interesting... The marsh is an amazing resource so close to home. The naturalist did a great job engaging the kids! And they really do put on a top-notch program.

After the class, you can look inside the center and see all the neat things they have to offer. Or you can explore more of the trails along the marsh. The are picnic areas at the center, if you wish to do lunch there.

Welcome!

Welcome to our group! I have been trying to decide the best way to share field trip info with you, and since I know a little about blogging (and it is free!), this is a good place to start.

Come here to see what field trips are on the docket, both initiated by myself and others. I will try to keep links to trip sites on the side bar.

You can let me (and others) know if you are coming on a particular trip by commenting on that trip or sending an email to me or the person planning the trip. Make sure to include your name, number attending, and any additional information the planner asks for.

Hopefully this will be easier than it sounds. If you have any questions or suggestions, do not hesitate to let me know.

Oh! Are you wondering what this is? I will back up a little then...

Eager Beavers is a homeschool field trip network. This is basically a forum to let area homeschool families know about field trips that others are planning. Going in numbers and being classified as a "school group" is so helpful in getting in on educational experiences in many different places. Besides, it gives us all a chance to know each other better, our children get to learn together, and all without the big commitment to a homeschool group.

I am very excited for my family to begin learning and adventuring with yours!
